This article describes how to make changes to the text and images you show on your website, including individual rooms and spaces.
Depending on the style you’ve chosen, the front page will likely have a Description (excerpt), Amenities, and a Photo Gallery of your accommodation.
Change the front page content
The top part of your front page contains a large image with your title and tagline. These are displayed using Elementor page builder. They have been put together carefully, and we don’t recommend you change them, but if you do, we recommend you first become confident with Elementor page builder. You can check out articles about Elementor on our website.
Other property content shown on your front page is Accommodation content, comprising a Photo Gallery, Excerpt, Amenities, Pricing, and other details. All these items can be changed easily.
To start, go to Accommodation > Accommodation Types > Edit.
The Accommodation Types will depend on your type of property. In most single property websites, rooms or spaces are treated separately from the “whole house”. The whole house is listed separately, may be called by the name of the property, and normally provides the content that is displayed on the front page.
Unlike Page content that uses Elementor, Accommodation content is edited using the WordPress interface. Don’t click on the Elementor edit button. If you do, your accommodation type will display differently.
Edit the description (excerpt)
Edit the description of your space you’ve selected using the “Edit excerpt”. You can change the featured image here too. Scroll down the page for the photo gallery.
Add or edit Amenities
Scroll down from the excerpt and you’ll find the Amenities. There are many preset amenities available but if you want a new one, click “Add New Amenity” and enter.
Add images to the gallery
To add to the photo gallery, simply drag and drop an image into the file upload area and click “Add Gallery”. Software within your website automatically optimises your images. You can select the images you want in the gallery for that accommodation type through the media library.
Change capacity and bed types
To change the information shown on the front page, select the “main” Accommodation Type and scroll down until you see the size, capacity, and bed types you want to change. If you want to change information about an individual room, select that room. The changes will be reflected in the “Details” page of that room.
Change content of individual spaces
The only difference between content on the front page, and that of individual spaces or rooms, is the Featured Image. Changing the Featured Image will change the top photo in the Archive and Details pages. The Archive page may be called “Our Rooms” or “Spaces”, etc. The Details page is linked from the Archive page and has a booking form. Like all Accommodation content, it’s changed using the WordPress interface, not Elementor.
Change the Featured Image
To change the Featured Image, go to Accommodation > Accommodation Types > Edit.
Hover over the Featured Image on the right side of the screen. “Replace” and “Remove” will be shown. Choose “Replace”. The screen will open to give options to choose an image from the Media Library, or to Upload a new one.
You’ll see on the screenshot below that the existing Featured Image has a File Name, Alt Text, Title, and Description. All these items help with Search Engine Optimisation that ranks your website on Google search. If you upload a new image, you must change its File Name beforehand. This is done on your own device. After you have selcted an image, or uploaded a new one, save changes by clicking “Select Featured Image”.
