DIY Calendar Sync

We can sync your calendars when we make your website but if you want to do it yourself, here's how.

Syncing your external calendars, such as Airbnb and Booking.com, with your website is a 2-step process. A link from your website is added to your other platform, and a link from the other platform is added to your website. Each link needs to be in the “ical” or “ics” format and each platform must be linked the same way. Here’s how you do it.

Start with your website

First, you need to copy your website ical link to add to your other platforms. Your link is found under Bookings > Sync Calendars. Below is an example of calendars for a house with two bedrooms. There is no external platform calendars synced yet.

If each rooms can be rented separately, then you need to sync each room. If you rent the whole house as a whole (not bedrooms individually), then only the “whole house” calendar is synced.

The highlighted link is your website calendar URL. Copy it, then enter it into both Airbnb and Booking.com in the following way:

Sync with Airbnb

  1. Login to Airbnb, click Calendar and select the listing calendar you want to change
  2. Click Availability
  3. Under Connect calendars, click Calendar import
  4. Paste the URL from your website into the calendar address field
  5. Give the calendar a name and click Save

Copy the Airbnb link

  1. Click Calendar and select the listing calendar you want to change
  2. Click Availability
  3. Under Connect calendars, click Airbnb calendar export
  4. Copy the link

Add the Airbnb link to your website

Hover over the accommodation that needs to be synced.

Click “Edit Calendar”.

Click “Add New Calendar” and add the Airbnb link, shown in the example below, and click “Update”.

Sync with Booking.com

  1. Log in to Booking.com’s extranet.
  2. Depending on your extranet, either click on Rates & Availability and then on Calendar, or click on Calendar & Pricing.
  3. Click Sync calendars.
  4. Click Add calendar connection, then add the link to the third-party calendar you want to import reservations from. Give the calendar connection a name – if you’re connecting to Airbnb you might call it ‘Airbnb’ – and then click Next step. You can also click Skip this step if you want to go straight to exporting your calendar. You can come back and import the third-party calendar later by clicking Complete setup on the Sync calendars page.
  5. To export your Booking.com calendar, copy your Booking.com calendar link by clicking on Copy link, and then paste it into the relevant field on your third-party calendar – for example on Airbnb’s calendar syncing page. Under Export options, select whether you want to export only your Booked dates only or both Booked and closed dates. You can also choose to Skip export – you can choose to export your Booking.com calendar any time by clicking Complete setup on the Sync calendars page.
  6. Once you’ve done this, you can go back to the extranet and click Done.

You’ll see the status as Activating while the connection is being set up. Once your calendars are synchronised, the status will change to OK. You’ll be able to see an overview of your calendar connections whenever you return to the  Sync calendars page.
